How it is to be a dyslexic....

During that one day I've spent with Vinno, an ex-Samvedan boy, i got some ideas about actually being a dyslexic.

Vinno was one of Samveda's best students, and after leaving Samveda, he went to a college for business administration, from where he's just graduating now. And the big question is where he should continue. And what specialty he should take up. Because he loves finances, and he is really good in it. Just there is a tiny little problem. That due to his dyslexia, he is quite often mixing up numbers (ca. 2-3 times out of 10). For example instead of 23 he writes 32. But despite this, he was always having
rather good marks in maths and finance-related subjects. And noone ever knew in his college that he has dyslexia. All what they realised is that he can't really spell, and that he's "not careful enough" with numbers....
So now he's there: good marks from college (usually around 60-70%, a result that required about double the efforts from him compared to his classmates), and he could go to university easily. But wherever he would go, there are numbers involved. His family has a small sculpture-factory, and he'll take it over one time, so therefore marketing would also be a good choice for him, but also there are the marketing-budget numbers.... And here is his big problem: he wants to collect some experience with a big company before taking over the family-enterprise, but he's afraid that if he'd make these number-mistakes at a big company, he'd be fired really soon.... And noone would take him if he'd admit that he has dyslexia.... So he probably has studied for being unemployed???

It was also nice when he told me about his phone. He has a quite good phone, and some of his friends teased him why he needs such a business-phone... He never told them (as they also don't know about his dyslexia) that he's bought that phone because of T9. So when he's writing sms's, there is a pop-up window with the posible options for the word he started to type. So like this he can select the correct word, and he's not making spelling errors in his text messages.....

Cruel...
