Víkkend

Well, monday again, sunday passed by really fast.
It started quite early, then taking a train at 9:20 instead of 8:20 - nothing special just being a "bit" late.
We (Suren+me) arrived in Bangalore around 3pm, went straight to the camera-service, which was closed of course. Then we had lunch at a really nice place, and went back to the shop. Well, more only a counter, fully stuffed with cameras, lenses, batteries, camera cases, etc.
It didn't take 2 whole minutes for the guy to take my camera apart (to much smaller parts than on the picture below), and then he started checking. Until now i was afraid that something is wrong with the switch-on mechanism, as the camera didn't react at all when i wanted to switch it on. But now it seemed that it does get power from the battery, and there was also no visible sign of any other damage whatsoever.... So conclusion drawn: it is most likely something with the software, it might be erased. (The "from what" question of mine wasn't really answered, but anyway). So i had to leave the camera there, the guy will reload the software today, and then in the evening i'll have to call him to see if that was really the problem. Don't dare to hope too much yet, but he really seemed like knowing what he was doing.
(+ in case he won't be able to fix it, he also sells 2nd hand cameras for quite reasonable prices. Of course you never know how long those things'll work....).

Afterwards we went to Suren's cousin's place to say goodbye to him (he lives in the US with his family, was here for 2 months now). It was really nice, the whole family, friends and neighbours came over to say goodbye, and again i really missed MY family and MY friends.... :(
But won't miss you for too long anymore. But to make me feel better, we had really REALLY good dosas....

We had to come back by bus, as the night-train was already booked out. I have to say i prefer the trains much more, as:
- there you really lay on a bench, and not sit in a chair.
- on the train you can go to the toilet any time you wish - quite a relief sometimes....

First we went to some private bus stand, but also that bus was full already, so went over to the public bus stop, we were just walking towards it, when a bus came, and - as always - the conductor/steward on the bus kept yelling the names the bus is headed to. This might sound weird, but the thing is that in these bus-stops there is such a huge crowd and tens of busses, while they are never able to say from which platform the bus is leaving from, ususally there is just a direction (from the end of the bus-stop, from the front, etc.). So you really have to ask every single busdriver about the destination. And yes, here are the conductors also coming into the question with the constant shouting, to give you a chance to find your bus :)
And this particular bus happened to go to Davangere, and it was almost empty, so i had 2seats just for myself, so i could even lay down (well not for too long, as first i started to read my book - the ambler warning by r. ludlum, the one writing the bourne-stories as well). So it was already about 12:30 when i fall asleap, then at 2am i was already awake, and at 3 we made it to Dav.... Luckily i managed to sleep a bit more afterwards, so today i'm still quite ok. But usually it's the second day when i'm really tired.
Oh, and what was really good on the bus: they were giving some blankets + a bottle of water (ok, the price was also quite expensive - about 2,5* of the train ticket), but it IS a service. And actually a really good one taking that the nights are getting quite cold here nowadays.

So that much for the WE, and yes, now i'll have to go back to Bangalore once more, but hopefully come back with my "brand newly" functioning camera. And then i'll maybe also post a picture on the "service" :)
